I’ve often caught myself wishing for more time. More time to work on my passion, or to catch up with daily chores. More time to meet the goals I set for myself in my work and personal life. More time to spend with my family and friends. Time to just sit and watch the stars…
Now imagine that someone comes to you with a magic wand and grant you a wish for extra time. And not only 1 extra hour, but 52 precious hours. Or even more, 156, or 260, or 416 or whooping 520 hours of extra time.
Would you go visit your family? Or sit and talk to a friend? Would you go to the park and play with your kid? Or maybe work on a personal project that can change your life forever? Or would you watch all those movies and TV series you never had enough time for?
We would love to do a lot of things with all those precious hours, but unfortunately, we don’t have them. Or do we?
I would like to present you with an idea of 52 days. Or hours. Honestly, it doesn’t matter what you choose. What matters is the principle.
We all know that there are 7 days in a week, right?
Imagine a scenario where you can get one of these 7 days for yourself. Just one. Or in the case of hours, you take 1, 3, 5, 8, 10, or more hours just for yourself and the activities you want to do.
I will go with an example of days, and I will choose Saturday.
If we take 52 Saturdays out of the year, we can achieve amazing things for our personal development.
One extra day would mean:
52 more opportunities to spend quality time with your family
52 more times to bond with your friend
52 chances to exercise and improve your health
52 more pages you can write if your goal is to write a book
52 more blog posts, or YouTube videos, or some other creative outlet you have chosen for yourself
52 more meditations for mental clarity
52 days not to drink alcohol
52 days to skip junk food
52 opportunities to be a better person
52 sunsets or sunrises
52 more times to kiss your partner and say I love you
52 opportunities to wake up early
52 chances to save more money
52 chances to invest money
52 times to do whatever you want
52 opportunities to change your life.
Maybe those 52 extra days or hours would lead to a bestselling book, or to a blog that could change the lives of millions of people. Or to a better marriage. Perhaps 52 extra days or hours would make a difference in your physical or spiritual health. Or maybe these 52 sunsets could enrich your life more than you can imagine. Maybe 52 extra investing days per year (combining with a few years) could make a difference between retiring at 65 or 50. Or 52 extra savings days could be used to pay off mortgage or credit card debts faster. Maybe these 52 opportunities to change your life could lead to a totally different life.
It’s important to set aside time for the little things because with time, and practice they can become huge, and change your life forever. It’s important to slow down, take a breath, and do something that makes you happy.
Why not try it?
What do you have to lose?
Except for 52 days…
Cheers!
*If we use an example with hours, it would be:
52 days *1 hour per day = 52 extra hours
52 days *3 hours per day = 156 extra hours
52 days *5 hours per day = 260 extra hours
52 days *8 hours per day = 416 extra hours
52 days *10 hours per day = 520 extra hours per year
