The 5X5 Rule

James Altucher, an American hedge-fund manager, author, podcaster, and entrepreneur, developed a fantastic rule that blew me away when I first heard about it. 

It’s called The 5×5 rule and it’s amazing. In fact, it’s so amazing that I want to share it with you.

The 5×5 rule states:

  • you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with
  • your health is the average of the 5 foods you eat the most
  • your mental state is the average of the 5 things you think about the most
  • your creativity is the average of the 5 works of art you spend the most time trying to read or watch or understand
  • your ability to be loved is the average of the 5 things you most do that are lovable

or simplified

 

I am the average of:

  • 5 people I spend most of my time with
  • 5 habits I constantly do
  • 5 foods I eat regularly
  • 5 ideas I have and think about the most
  • 5 types of books I read 

Take what you think you can use, leave the rest.
