The Art of Letting Go

All the art of living lies in the fine mingling of letting go and holding on.

It’s hard to let go.

Everyone knows that.

It’s hard to let go of people.

It’s hard to let go of things.

It’s hard to let go of emotions.

It’s hard to let go of dreams.

It’s hard to let go of plans.

It’s hard to let go of goals.

It’s hard to let go when you know you have to.

It’s hard to let go when you don’t want to.

Some are better at letting go,

Some are worse.

Some are better at letting go of things,

Some are better at letting go of people,

And some are better at letting go of dreams, goals, plans, and emotions.

Saying goodbye is never easy, but it’s important.

And you know what? It’s okay.

It’s okay to have a hard time letting go.

But that’s no excuse to keep hanging onto it.

If something no longer serves you,

Why hold onto it?

Let it go!

Then, when you’re empty and free,

Pick up peace, self-control, and happiness

Pick up good habits, love, freedom, and equanimity.

Pick up everything you couldn’t before.

Ready?

Okay.

Loosen the grip and start letting go.

Cheers!
